So it took four months until Zi’s blocked tear duct opened, subsequently clearing her skin on her left cheek. After months of massage and wiping, it’s normalized and cleared up. Thank You Lord. Next up to bat- excessive salivating. You know what that means. Ate Emma grew her first two teeth at 3.5 months. Aside from that, Zi’s reached the obvious milestones earlier than her sister. But one similarity? They both hated car rides and being on held like a baby- on their back. And one distinctive characteristic of Zi? Her garrulous nature and sociability. Still on right: Em’s joining Zi on the floor for tummy time. She loves to play with her little sister. It shoes, because Zi responds with smiles and laughter.
Here’s something from babycenter.com: 3 months Mastered Skills (most kids can do) • Recognizes your face and scent • Holds head steady • Visually tracks moving objects Emerging Skills (half of kids can do) • Squeals, gurgles, coos • Blows bubbles • Recognizes your voice • Does mini-pushup Advanced Skills (a few kids can do) • Rolls over, from tummy to back • Turns toward loud sounds • Can bring hands together, bats at toys So far, according to the charts, Zi’s accomplished all three tiers, even mastering rolling over from both sides, and picking up objects. Like her Ate Emma, she’s advanced. For complete chart, click here. We had her fourth month appointment today. She’s a likely candidate for eczema (poor girl), like Em, but everything else is healthy. She still has a closed tear duct on her left eye, but it seems like it’s getting a bit better. We also transferred to a new pediatrician, who happens to be our family doctor. We really like him and trust him, so every visit seems like a trip to a friend. Visiting him is also more efficient, since he’s not transferring us to another nurse for shots. He expounds on […]
She’s turning four months soon. You know what that means…let’s recap what happened when our little Zienne was three months. We started her on her exersaucer. She learned how to maneuver objects so she can pick them up. She learned how to bring things closer and push them away. She learned how to press buttons/tap objects to make noise. She learned how to salivate even more by blowing raspberries. She sticks her hands in her mouth a lot and puts little toys in her mouth to chew on them. She salivates a lot (hence the beginning of us having to make her wear more bibs). She mastered rolling over from her back to her tummy (at 2 months, she mastered rolling from her tummy to her back). What else?? oh! and YAY!!!! We heard her first laugh!!! Check out her videos! Ok, hellokitty, we’re ready for your four months, baby!! Tatay, Mamam, and Monkichi are all on tippytoes for your new tricks.
They look very similar with minor differences that make it distinct. They’re about the same age in the pictures. I tried to choose poses resembling each other.
My baby girl is 3 months. Time feels as if I’ve known her longer but it’s only been about 90 days. She’s such a joy to our family, having such a distinct personality of her own. I think she will be the calmer sister, but still chatty, and sly in her sassiness. She will probably be the one that will outsmart her dad’s mind, as Emma will be the one to break his heart. Note to self, revisit this post in about 20 years. So far, she’s learned to turn over, sleeps throughout the night (with intermittent feeding), baby chats if you talk to her eye to eye, likes to be on her feet rather than her back or her bum, and smiles every morning to greet you. She likes to hold her hands together, stare at her sister, and is even starting to have an interest with the tele. Size-wise, she can comfortably fit her 0-3’s now, which took a little over a month since birth. She’s much bigger than when Emma was her age, and Zi’s a better eater, although she’s not as ravage as her first month, which explains her “deplumping.” Crying at night is a minimum, […]
Some videos of our beloved Zienne: 1. Milestone: Rolling Over: A couple of days ago, she started rolling over, first to her left, then to her right. Right then, I realized that she’s going mobile, so I video-ed her milestone. At two months, beating her sister’s record, Zi is a roller. 2. Chatty Zi: Earlier this month, Zi also started baby chatting, when she can carry a conversation with people who get her attention (eye contact). She smiles and coos, letting you have her attention for quite some time. It’s always a joy during those moments when we can carry a conversation several times in a day. ps. you can hear Ate in the background (or major foreground) taking part of the conversation. =) she absolutely LOVES her little sister.
Zi’s dedication is today. Another milestone in my beloved girl’s life. 1 Sam.1:27-28 To God be all glory.
