At 15 months, Zi has been obsessed with a Justin Beiber song, but she’s particular with Charice’s version of the song. Whenever the song plays, she’ll wait for the chorus an then sing along “baby baby baby oh.” Also, if she wants to hear it, she’ll either point to the laptop or iPhone, and then start swaying, as to motion us to play the song. She is definitely a musical baby.
I found this. The left picture was the one I used for Emma’s invitations for her 1st birthday party, and the right picture is the one I used for Zienne’s invitations.
This is the result of being pregnant for 2 cantatas, attending every choir practice for 2 more cantatas, Zienne seems to be quite the musical baby. At a very early age of 5-6 months, she started singing her “aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahs.” She would sing in choir practice and praise and worship, loudly above fellow voices. She even knows to sing when requested “sing.” Around the same time, she’d dance by swaying side to side to music, even when sung. One day I found her trying to conduct to this song. Ever since then, she’ll press the button and start leading. Odd thing is that she’ll only conduct to this song. I laugh because I wonder if I really look like that every time she sees me conduct the choir. She gets shy at the end because she realizes that I’m taking a video, but she’s game enough to give me a high-5 Choir Director’s Kid Length:0:33 Zienne 12months
So before Zi turns 11 months, I just wanted to update on her 10 month milestones. She eats rice and solid veggies now, ground up, still drinks from the bottle and nurses. At night, I nurse her up until morning. She wakes up a little here and there, maybe 2-3 times but lately, she’s been fussy and wakes more frequently because she’s teething. She’s growing in her 4 top teeth at the same time, so she’s clingy, cranky, but still adorable- adorably exhausting. To think she still has so much more teeth to go! She’s so much faster with walking and now only walks instead of crawls. She’s such a pro at getting herself to standing position without any props, or grunting for that matter. She also knows how to get down a step or from a higher to lower height. She’s mastered that before learning how to get all the way to the top of the stairs. It’s become a challenge leaving her alone next to stairs because she’ll take the physical challenge. She also knows how to point to something she wants to eat or play with. She can point to her nose and locate it when you […]
They do this every night before bedtime, before they’re separated into different rooms. If Emma doesn’t go see Zi first, Zi will crawl off the bed and walk to emma’s room. Then Emma will get the most hugs and kisses before bedtime. It’s really something new, revealing, and amazing to see. Em sleeps alone in her room now, so Zi really spends some time before bed hugging her sister and giving her kisses. Then when Em goes to her room, Zi gets down from the bed and walks over to Em’s room, which basically means preparing them to actually sleep takes about an hour, because of all the visits, girlish snickering, and chasing about. …as you can tell, they’re wearing different clothes in both pictures…this is a daily practice.
Sunday, Zi mastered getting to standing position by herself, without props. She’s done this before a month ago but only today did she accomplish the skill repeatedly. This has helped increase her drive to walk & now predominantly walks instead of crawls. Happy 10 months my darling girl! So to recap, at 9 months, Zi learned how to start walking independently. She took 1 step, then 2, then 3, then 4, then stopped at 5. She was so happy and excited with herself for achieving such a feat, that I believe she surprised herself. So now, she takes a couple of steps at a time, then falls on her bum. So just like her Ate Emma, she started walking at 9 months! Bravo, little one. At this month, she’s also very clingy and hardly allows strangers to carry her anymore. If they do, she has to be in a very good mood, full and dry, and not at all sleepy. If those factors are ever present, she’s only partial to family, esp. Perze and myself. Sometimes, if she’s super cranky, she won’t even entertain her beloved Tatay or Emma. Added to the words Mamam, Dada, and Ate, she sometimes says De-de at the appropriate times when she’s about to nurse. She also knows how to comprehend the word ‘NO.’ When faced with a stern ‘no’ she will either A) cry, or B) try to debate it out by saying ‘eh’ after every […]
