I haven’t been buying more clothes for Zi than when I first had Emma, well, because one, we’re in a recession, man…and two (the more obvious reason), we still have Emma’s leftovers. And I remember making sure whatever I bought, I’d like it enough years down the road for another baby girl. So here are some things I bought for Zi, since I’m a HUGE fan of owls. Owl Sweater Hat & Owl Bib I bought it with discount so both were around $7.99 at Gymboree. They’re from the 2009 summer season called “Daddy’s Night Owl.” Every time I Bjorn Zi, I always get a reaction when she’s wearing her owl hat. Resembles Hello Kitty, so it’s an extra plus. The rest of the line is just ok…nothing I’d spend money on, so these were it. I have my eyes on my favorite Baby Boutique’s clothes (which I’ll probably post in a month or two after all the sales).
My baby girl is 3 months. Time feels as if I’ve known her longer but it’s only been about 90 days. She’s such a joy to our family, having such a distinct personality of her own. I think she will be the calmer sister, but still chatty, and sly in her sassiness. She will probably be the one that will outsmart her dad’s mind, as Emma will be the one to break his heart. Note to self, revisit this post in about 20 years. So far, she’s learned to turn over, sleeps throughout the night (with intermittent feeding), baby chats if you talk to her eye to eye, likes to be on her feet rather than her back or her bum, and smiles every morning to greet you. She likes to hold her hands together, stare at her sister, and is even starting to have an interest with the tele. Size-wise, she can comfortably fit her 0-3’s now, which took a little over a month since birth. She’s much bigger than when Emma was her age, and Zi’s a better eater, although she’s not as ravage as her first month, which explains her “deplumping.” Crying at night is a minimum, […]
Some videos of our beloved Zienne: 1. Milestone: Rolling Over: A couple of days ago, she started rolling over, first to her left, then to her right. Right then, I realized that she’s going mobile, so I video-ed her milestone. At two months, beating her sister’s record, Zi is a roller. 2. Chatty Zi: Earlier this month, Zi also started baby chatting, when she can carry a conversation with people who get her attention (eye contact). She smiles and coos, letting you have her attention for quite some time. It’s always a joy during those moments when we can carry a conversation several times in a day. ps. you can hear Ate in the background (or major foreground) taking part of the conversation. =) she absolutely LOVES her little sister.
Zi’s dedication is today. Another milestone in my beloved girl’s life. 1 Sam.1:27-28 To God be all glory.
I was able to mail/distribute the invites and announcements for Zi’s birth/dedication. There are still a couple I need to send out. Perze suggested that we just make a Facebook event, so I finished that today. Here are the final images for her announcement/dedication. I did the photoshoot myself, which wasn’t easy with a fussy baby and uncooperative weather. I also did the invitations myself. There’s different versions because I didn’t complete all of them in one sitting:
Zi’s almost 2 months. After a month, she developed baby acne (like Emma), which is still ongoing, but it looks as if it’s progressively going away. I hope by next week, her skin will be smoother for her dedication. Right now, her cheeks are chaffing, hopefully making way for her new skin, without the pimples. Her sleeping habits have been heavenly. She’ll go into a long sleep around 12am, which lasts around 4-6 hours. Then she’ll feed for a couple of minutes and resume the night’s rest for another 3 hours. I’ve found this to be quite beneficial to my sanity. Her feeding is great. I nurse her for 90% of the time, only probably using 1 bottle during the day, or none at all. Then when Perze spends time with her at night, he’ll use at most, 2 bottles, then I take over and resume nursing her. She’s much chubbier than Emma at her age, and for some reason, I think it’s the breastmilk. Sometimes I call her ‘chibi chibi’. chibi It is an adjective that means small and/or miniature in a good or cute way. Normally used to describe (young) people or animals, and is endearing. This word, […]
Did I mention Zienne smiles now? We had the opportunity to coo over her smiles since her first week, but those were merely signs of some chemical happenings in her body. On her sixth week, she became socially aware of faces and showed her contentment through gummy grins. I’ve yet to take a picture because it’s still hard to capture, but her smiles are most likely induced from her interactions with her big sister Emma. Some extremely late nights, when I’m rocking her to sleep, drowsy with my own physical fatigue, I’ll find renewed strength from an innocent and simple contortion of her lips representing happiness. Funny how one simple movement of the ends of her mouth can change the weight of my spirit. Zi, you’re beautiful.
