I’ve been meaning to blog for Elle’s 9th month post, archiving what she was up to on her 8th month, but I’ve gotten busy and Elle seems to be a little more clingy. As we speak, I’m speed-blogging while Perze walks her to sleep. That’s their routine and bonding time. The biggest thing she learned at 8 months was walking. Yes! She took her first steps mid-8th month and gained the drive to practice more and more steps as the days and weeks went by. The first time I saw her take a couple steps was on mom’s kitchen table, in front of all of us. Supposedly, this wasn’t the first time she took her first steps, as seen by Perze days before it. But since I’m blogging, we’re gonna go with that for now, but definitely on her 8th month :). That’s a month earlier than her two sisters. Also, she understands some words now like “clap” and “hi” “bye”. She’ll clap and wave her hands. She’ll also raise her hand to the sky when you say “Praise the Lord!” She also started learning “NO”, curious to test what happens when she continues with illegal acts. Sometimes, she’ll smile […]
Zienne is 10 months, almost 11. Things have been quite busy, with all the whirlwind preparations for the upcoming move, my little ring selling…thing…and of course, the responsibilities at church, and a very clingy teething baby with her almost-five-year-old-sister, who is preparing to attend kindergarten this year. With all the busyness, Zi has mastered getting up from sitting position to standing and then walking. She has this cute grunting sound, like a muffled war cry of determination. And once she’s up, she’ll smile, knowing that she’s accomplished something ‘big-girl-ish’. She’s on her way to becoming like everyone else she sees around her, mobile on two feet. She can take more than 15 steps at a time then fall down on her bum, or squat down to reach for something, then get back up again. She is also VERY good with climbing things. She uses everything as a stool to attain a new height, and can even climb to the top of the sofa. With getting down, she realizes this is a bit tricky, but she has also figured out a way how to get one step down. She’ll near the edge, then swing one leg to dangle down, then turn […]
Sunday, Zi mastered getting to standing position by herself, without props. She’s done this before a month ago but only today did she accomplish the skill repeatedly. This has helped increase her drive to walk & now predominantly walks instead of crawls. Happy 10 months my darling girl! So to recap, at 9 months, Zi learned how to start walking independently. She took 1 step, then 2, then 3, then 4, then stopped at 5. She was so happy and excited with herself for achieving such a feat, that I believe she surprised herself. So now, she takes a couple of steps at a time, then falls on her bum. So just like her Ate Emma, she started walking at 9 months! Bravo, little one. At this month, she’s also very clingy and hardly allows strangers to carry her anymore. If they do, she has to be in a very good mood, full and dry, and not at all sleepy. If those factors are ever present, she’s only partial to family, esp. Perze and myself. Sometimes, if she’s super cranky, she won’t even entertain her beloved Tatay or Emma. Added to the words Mamam, Dada, and Ate, she sometimes says De-de at the appropriate times when she’s about to nurse. She also knows how to comprehend the word ‘NO.’ When faced with a stern ‘no’ she will either A) cry, or B) try to debate it out by saying ‘eh’ after every […]
Today, our dearest little 9 month old Zienne took her 1st step! Perze and I were in the living room when she was standing up. Being in front of us, we had a good view of her taking a brave step forward and successfully remaining her balance. Knowing she had accomplished a new trick, she turned back to us and gave a very proud smile, then clapped her hands. Hhahahah. So proud of you, Zi. Soon you’ll be walking everywhere.
