team twelvesixteen: on Mel & Raph website

Last Friday, we were supposed to go to a funeral to support one of our beloved church members. But sadly, we couldn’t because Perze got home right at the time that it started. We instead met up with close friends, Mel and Raph to go over their wedding website consultation. My sister couldn’t make it because of a recent cold, so it was just Perze and me. Over pizza and chicken, we built their site from the ground up, trying to find ways to tweak and personalize their website, for FREE! Yes, WordPress was acting like a rebellious teenager, not letting us customize the css: fonts, parameters, dimensions, and insert a jpeg background, etc. They permit it, with the condition that M&R pay a fee. But, after 3 hours (and some extra time I put into it in the wee morning while Zi was asleep), it turned out better and prettier than most “do-it-yourself” paid wedding templates out there. So they got to save some money. Plus, I get to work on new graphic projects, a peaceful hobby of mine. an engagement

CONGRATULATIONS!! After years of dating, they’re ENGAGED! I met Popoy when I was in Rutgers, through a friend. He became our drummer for our praise band. I remember telling him that I had someone in mind for him even before he met Melody. She was going to apply for Rutgers 2 years later, and as I predicted, they were a cute match. Melody is like a little sister to me, having grown up with her and her sister. It seems so surreal that she’s engaged because I still see her as that young girl I want to protect. But she’s definitely all grown up. We’ll be praying for the two of you :). Let us know if there’s any way we can help with the preparations! God bless your coming marriage.

New Year 2018

What tremendous blessings and milestones in the Ababa family! We praise God for His grace in provision and favor. May our family continue to be a vessel for His glory.

We bought a new house! We praise God for giving us hope and peace as we had to simultaneously sell our previous home. It was a nail biting experience, but God’s provision and timing were perfect. Perze’s enjoying the gadgets and toys that come with owning a single family home like going green with solar panels + rechargeable electric equipment.

Elle is in her 1st year of school! She knows all her classmates’ names, is now reading, + 2 out of 5 days falls asleep on the bus ride home. She has recently been chosen to participate for a peer modeling group. One of her favorite hobbies is reading, + one of her favorite series is the "Little People, Big Dreams".

Emma is taking her 1st year of French, joined the chess club, is taking performance art, and is part of her school choir, 7/8th grade orchestra, + chamber ensemble. She is incredibly outgoing when it comes to auditioning, joining different musical ensembles, and has such a strong interest in performing. She helps her dad sing during his praise sets.

Changing schools for Zienne has been an positive experience, as she has found her social niche + is one of the top readers and math students of her class. Zi's hobbies include anything creative, making crafts, arts.
