sold two rings today: {umbrellas & bubbles} {spring showers} It’s nice to walk into a room and see people wear something you’ve made. Three of my friends approached me a showed me that they were all wearing my creations. It’s a nice feeling, and they all looked very sweet on them :)…really stood out.

Ok. So I opened up an Etsy shop :). Yay! I’m not sure how it’s going to do, if people will be interested in buying my little hobbies, but it’s out there in out-there land. I just have to make the site a little pretty { my photoshop is in the shop and is therefore temporarily disabled }. Here’s a peek for those peek-worthy. www.twelvesixteen.etsy.com Subsequently, tried to get the name ninesixteen, but someone had already taken it. I also didn’t want to make the store name with my name because there’s already a designer with that name { major boo. it’s not even their name }. So I went with a name I’m already associated with. I also made two new rings: Ice Cream Social and Romance so… I know it may not be much, but I’m proud of what I’ve made 🙂
Ring #4: By the Sea, just in time for a nice stroll by the sea, this cocktail ring shows the bit of promise of a peaceful breeze. Can you see it? ‘By the Sea’ was inspired by the movie ‘Coco Before Chanel’, when she was fascinated by the beaches of England. This ring is joined with a little sand-dollar and friendly little crab, carrying a swarovski crystal. The beads I used for this one is a little bit tricky. In the morning, they’re a misty pale lilac, and at night, a pale seafoam. It’s getting easier and faster for me to make the cocktail rings, and everyone’s been asking me how they can buy one, so today, I opened up my shop at Etsy. I’ll let you know when it’s prettier. 🙂
Last night, I couldn’t sleep so I made Ring#3. This one is obviously an homage to Cherry Blossoms that bloom in spring, esp, May, my beloved daughter’s birth month. Seemed only fitting to give it that name, added with my ancient love for cherry blossoms. I should really take more pictures in the daytime. I meant to with the other previous rings, but I was so excited to show them to people so I took them at night, after I finished them. But this one, I waited, and I’m glad I did. the pink is a little more on the salmon side. This ring is so ready for spring. <3 But I’m really thankful that people are ordering them 🙂
This is ring #2. I’m thinking of giving it the name ‘Spring Showers’ because it’s fitting for spring, with the palest blue for showers, and the one blossom, for the promise of spring: Just click on the images to enlarge them. It’s really meant for my sister, Steph, so I was thinking of naming it after her, but I didn’t know if that was too personal, since I’m going to be putting its similar style for sale. But be it known that she chose the colors. :) Hope you like it, Te. { EDIT: I’ve decided on calling it with my sister’s name, Stephanie. She approves. }
Yay! I made my first cocktail ring. My favorite stores overprices their rings so I decided to make my own. Here they are! Just click on the images to enlarge them. Umbrella And Bubble It took me a while to get started and get used to using the tools to manipulate the wires, but once I did four, it wasn’t as bad as initially trialed. Despite Zienne’s efforts to distract me, my supportive husband was able to give me a little bit of time to try out my new craft. And voila, here it is. Pretty good, a bit simple for my first try, but I know it’ll definitely get some attention. I just now need to find a store that sells the specific beads I’m looking for. A bit on the romantic side, isn’t it?
