If I lost count, that means, it’s time to get the baby out already…hahah They call these last two weeks the waiting game, but it’s hardly some fun game for me…you can hardly compare it to connect four. Each night, it’s getting harder to sleep because of my back and pelvis. Additionally, my tummy’s been itching because I don’t think it can stretch anymore. Ok…so the 11th appointment…I really like the people in the office; the nurses are garrulously nice, both to Em and me. I’ve reached 30 lbs. and everything looks great with Z. Doctor G. says it can be any day really…so later on, I’m going to have a talk with the little guy to try to convince Z to coming out tomorrow. That’s right, I said it…May 1 is fine ;), just as we wanted.
Perze and Em were able to accompany me to the OBGyn today. Everything went well & quickly. I got some reading material for labor. Overall, everything was healthy and normal. My doctor asked me what our plans were for such a beautiful weekend, so I responded, “Hopefully, giving birth…” So that’s me in nine months. I’ve gained 27 lbs. so far, and hoping that’s it before I give birth. Everyone says it looks like I’m carrying a boy, and by everyone, it’s mostly experienced mums who’ve had boys. So when I buy some stuff for Baby Z, I end up looking at the boys section, but always purchase more unisex items- less green though, and more natural, creams, cereal, oatmeals, whites, aqua ocean, beiges. I’m very into things that look “Green” and earthy. With that said, I’ve been very picky in what to buy and don’t want to over-buy things, so I’ll show you what I kept and bought in another blog :).
9th month! Last month! The nurse took my blood pressure- normal. Weight- 26 lbs. gained So far everything looks great. My doctor then surprised me by saying that I had already started dilation 🙂 and that the baby had already dropped down. Having had a previous problem during my first pregnancy w/ Emma not dropping down up until the very last minute of my labor, I was pleasantly surprised that Baby Zias/Zienne might be arriving faster. We got all the questions and procedures out of the way, and I called Perze excitedly, thinking that it could even be only a week away until we see our beloved. We all got pretty enthusiastic. I can’t imagine how much this will change our family dynamics, but all fears are really overweighed by the excitement to meet the newest member of our family.
Thank you for your efforts of making it a surprise, although Emma gave me the biggest truth of all, saying, “we’re going to a party, for you mama.” It’s definitely the thought that counts :). We had a great time and ate a lot! Thank you to everyone for your care for us and joining in expecting Baby Zias/Zienne. Stills of the Baby Shower are available in our Photo Gallery.
Phew. 34th week. Thank goodness the weather’s becoming more pleasant, and the clothes are becoming lighter and less bulky, because to be honest, I don’t think I can zip up my bubble coat anymore. Zem accompanied me, as usual, to the office, where she’s well known already. Everyone comments on her sweetness and chatty personality. Today, she drew a picture for one of the workers, so the nurse taped it up above their desk. Emma’s such a charmer sometimes. She even tries to give “presents” to the people who deliver food to our place. So ya, they’re saying how great a big sister she’s going to be. The OBGyn was happy to see the progression of growth with Baby Z, and my constancy with my weight. It’s been 2 weeks since my last check up and I’m still only 20 lbs. over my pre-baby weight. The nurse who I talk to each visit was also surprised that I’m on my last month and managed to look “not-pregnant” from the back. She said I looked like I was carrying a boy and I was “all baby,” so that means a lot! I shared to her my first experience with Emma, and […]
