The phrase “seize every moment” is right. I once read a parenthood article saying that it’s ok not to “carpe diem” every moment of parenthood because we also have our low moments with them. But I’ve grown to realize that those tough relationship moments with them is part of what will build their memories and shape them fractionally of who they will become. So it’s a humbling reminder to even take those moments crucially. Looking at the busyness of today’s youth, I’m reminded also to really savor these moments of their honest dependence.  And looking at the neglect of family in today’s young adults, I’m reminded to make moments to lay the foundation of a love relationship.
