Teething usually starts during the sixth or seventh month (resulting in a front/bottom tooth) but can start as early as 2 months and as late as 12 months. Most babies cut four new teeth every four months until all 20 primary teeth have come in at around age 2-1/2.Signals that your babys cutting teethSuspect teething when you notice one or more of these symptoms:Drooling A chin or facial rash A cough due to excess saliva Biting to help relieve pressure Refusal to eat Diarrhea A low-grade fever Wakefulness Redness in the gums Ear pulling or cheek rubbing Irritability The remedies are simple. a laugh… last night, perze called me to hurry to the room where he was playing with Emma. Little did I know that I was in for one of her cute milestones. When I got there, Emma was standing on Perze’s tummy – laughing. I don’t know how Perze did it, but he was making her laugh along with him. I melted. This is how it feels when you hear your baby laughs for the first time: it’s like… getting your diploma at graduation knowing your class was cancelled for the rest of the week hearing someone you love say i love you for the first time getting an A on a test you didn’t study for receiving a present even when it’s not your birthday or christmas, or presidents day her laugh was so simple, but it was so exciting and moving at the same time. it’s so funny how a tiny baby who has no intention of evoking your emotion can make you feel so squishy inside.
10 lbs. 5oz. 123 in. 2 mo. doctor’s visit: she received 3 more shots and she wasn’t happy. after receiving her first shot, she wailed in surprised agony, clinging to me afterwards. she ended up getting her first fever as a result of the injections so we ended up giving her Tylenol’s infant drops to alleviate her high temperature. she behavior became sluggish, having changed from her boisterous self. We gave her the drops every 4 hours and by the next day, her temperature returned to normal and she began to smile again. neck support: perze showed me that when he carries her on her belly, allowing freedom for her to support her head, she successfully does manage to hold it erect. it doesn’t droop down at all, and although she still hasn’t completely mastered it when she sits down, her neck control is increasingly strengthening. Even when we carry her upright, she can hold her head straight. It only dips down because she still has no vertebral control. baby acne: we went to her ped. and he suggested using olive oil, so perze generously applied it and claims that her baby acne disppeared because of the oil. but for […]

It seems as if it hasn’t been 1 month, but we made it! Thank the Lord for sustaining us through the nights we had to wake up every time she cried because she was hungry and her diaper needed changing. Some nights, i have to admit, were annoying because i didn’t get enough rest, but every morning when i look at her face and i’m very conscious, i apologize to her for being sometimes cross with her. i know it’s not her fault; it’s my inability to be more patient. She weighs about 7lbs now and her facial hair has fallen off as well as some of her hair on her head. Her skin has stopped shedding, and her features are more prominent now that she’s gaining weight. Her nails grow so quickly and her facial expressions make me laugh so much. She drinks almost 3oz. each feeding after she’s had a long sleep, which usually lasts for 2-3 hours. She happens to love her Papasan, the one titoFred gave her, and lately she’s been appeased by her green Nuk binkie. We also usually swaddle her because her sporadic spasms wake her up and she ends up crying. So that’s […]
She’s finally here! Emmanuelle Grace Fabila Ababa July 1, 2005 Cooper Hospital, Camden NJ 4:57 pm 5 lbs. 11 oz. 9’3 inches [click on the pick to go to her album] I started getting contractions June 30 around 9pm during dinner time with my parents. They felt like strong consistent cramps that timed about 3 min. apart. I called perze, who was in Budd Lake at that time because he went to work earlier that day. He was so excited that this could be it, and we didn’t want to take that chance that he’d be late for my labor, so he decided to come back down to SJ. It was a thursday before 4th of july so my siblings were also coming back to SJ, even kristie who went back to Boston earlier that week. So baby Ninja Emma really timed it well. Everyone was coming home for her arrival. Perze came home around 11:30pm and we waited and recorded my contractions until they were 5 min. apart with more intensity because we didn’t want to call the doctor too early for them to have sent us home again from the hospital if i wasn’t too far dilated. So […]
