the size of a banana: It’s really difficult to even imagine a baby the size of a banana inside my stomach, but each day it seems my midsection is getting bigger and bigger. I’m on the halfway mark and it doesn’t get any prettier from here on out. Believe me, I know. Some people have been mentioning how I’m “glowing”, which means I’m having a girl. They always say, “I’m sorry, I wish it was a boy, but you’re glowing.” But then I hear them say my other pregnant friend is also “glowing” although she’s definitely having a boy. I don’t know how that works, but nevertheless, boy or girl, God has the perfect reasoning and equation for our family. There are reasons why I would want a boy, but God’s got the ultimate stamp of approval. I’m on my 2nd trimester, 5th month so far and only gained about 4 lbs. to date. This is not because I’m dieting or forcing myself not to eat too much, but it is a mix of lack of appetite and when I do get the snackies, I try to limit the unecessary fluff calories that have no nutritional value. But if I […]
In behalf of our family, we just wanted to say thanks to everyone who greeted us with congratulatory words and encouraging advice/hopes, esp. those who join with us in prayer for the baby’s well being (and even gender…hah). I’ve always believed in community, and ever since our first daughter was born, I’ve been so thankful for those who’ve covered us with gracious love and care- extending it to our daughters. You don’t know how much that means to us because they’ve been raised in love. We’re so blessed by you guys, our family and friends. love, perze, marchesa, emmanuelle grace, zienne noelle, & BABY “Oh what a world this life would be…” – sondre lerche If you’ve missed our announcement, here’s a rerun :). Q&A: We weren’t able to address all your comments and questions individually, so we’ve compiled them and here’s some answers: 1. Do you know the gender yet? Is it twins, triplets? We don’t know the gender yet; we will by Mid-April. And no, not twins, nor triplets. haha 2. Is this why we haven’t seen you? More likely, YES! Sometimes, I would just feel tired, or sick, and this time around, my food aversions have been […]
size of a turnip: I’ve only gained 2 lbs, but I should be gaining more weight soon because the baby’s size will double this trimester. Still have some aversions to food. Last night I was dy heaving so much after seeing the salmon I made from last week & smelling everything in the kitchen. Wolverine’s weakness. So far, nothing’s really changed. I’m still doing the same things I’ve done when I wasn’t pregnant, except of course for the obvious restrictions. Being a mom of two, I still have so many responsibilities that I can’t say no to, so even when I have a horrible headache, I just chug through it and try to smile every now and then. And when I’m terribly sleepy or tired, and one of the girls wakes up in the middle of the night, I get up, just a little more slowly now. Also, even though I’m pregnant, I don’t let it deter my ministries in church. God has given me more than enough, and has blessed me with more than I can ever attain myself, all by grace, so I don’t serve to make it up to Him…but man, it’s humbling and I love the […]
We’ve been very naughty in keeping a very important secret… We found out the day after Christmas and told our daughters the exciting news first. They were such great secret keepers! For more than four months, they’ve been praying for this baby, along with Perze and me. So now seems like the right time to share our news with everyone! Esp. since my brother admitted to wanting to spread the rumor that I was putting on some un-needed pounds. Sorry for those who had to keep the announcement a secret for so long. Hahahaha…at least we have a good laugh with all the inside jokes.
size of a big lemon: Yay! 16th week! Really showing now and the nausea has subsided for the mojority of the time although there are still some foods that make me feel sick. At least I have the appetite to eat dinner now.
size of an avocado: Nausea is subsiding more and more and I can eat a regular meal during dinner now but appetite hasn’t kicked in full throttle. I can feel flutters and jerky movements. The girls are sweet to the baby- talking to him/her and making sure he’s/she’s safe.
size of a lemon: Feb.28 Last Saturday, Perze and I both felt baby dragon move for the first time, together! We were lying down and I was curled next to Perze. He had his hand under my belly and that morning we felt a big move. 🙂 Thanks for the sweet present, beloved. Today, I can feel flutters. Let me explain why we call the baby, ‘baby dragon.’ Since this is the year of the water dragon, we thought it would be cute to give him/her that animal, esp. if it’s a boy. For some reason, all the young adults in our church have given our family animal titles and vice versa. Our daughters have given them animal names too. For example, I started calling Emma ‘monkey’ since birth and ‘kitty’ for Zienne. So when Gerry Boy moved in, our daughters dubbed him ‘kuya platypus’. Then he gave us ‘Papa Bear’ and ‘Mama Llama’. Then the animal game went further when our daughters started naming their kuyas/ates in church. So, since we found out about Baby, it was very fitting to call him/her a cute baby dragon. March 2 I’m showing already but with loose clothing, people still haven’t been […]
