tonight, after I gave her my iphone with her favorite Barney show on, she said, “thank you, Mamam.” it’s official, she’s starting to put words together. i think her first ever sentence was, “ba-bye, ate zi zi.” i feel like after Christmas, she’s just matured so much already. everyone’s telling me I don’t have a baby anymore. It’s true. 🙁 [insert hallmark emo moment]
Elle just gave me my iPhone telling me “Let_Go” … So I put it on “Let It Go”. Someone is obsessed with the Frozen soundtrack like her two older sisters. I love how she sings songs from Frozen along with her sisters. She knows how to sing some words so she sings when her part comes on. We gave her the title “songbird” the week she was born. She’s completely living up to it. 🙂 One of the things she loves to do is sing. PS. These days, whenever I tell her to do something or when I get mad and correct her, she always responds “okay”. I love how my girls, even at an early age is so responsive to everything. Elle doesn’t seem like a 16 month old because I can talk to her normally and she’ll understand.
I think it’s now safe to say a few things about Elleonai and give some updates. It’s now 2014 and this new year brought some big girl convictions to Elle. Now being 16 months, she is officially weaned from nursing (wooot to the wooot for me!!), drinks strictly from her sippy cups (yay, no more bottles or heating milk!), gets ready for bed and stays in bed until she falls asleep without being soothed, and wait for it… yes, folks, she sleeps through the night (insert dougie). This makes me emotional because the last great sleep I had was when I was 24. She comes to me and says “poo poo” when she needs a diaper change and says “rice” when she wants to eat something. Her communication makes it so much easier for me to know what she needs and her understanding of what I want from her through language really eases and lessens any possibility for tantrum. She’s also the most social baby of all three. She is so friendly to people who take care of her, esp. when I need someone to babysit. Her Kuyas and Ates, Ninongs and Ninangs are usually very accommodating to watch her […]
Elle, you’re 15 months now. Your comprehension is so impressive, understanding commands and actually following through certain requests such as getting your diaper, throwing out something in the trash, not going up the stairs, singing, getting your shoes, giving something to someone, going to your room, even walking instead of running, and when someone asks you to bless, you’ll bless. Every night, when your dad comes home, you follow your sisters and know to bless your dad. You kiss when we ask for kisses. You also communicate when you don’t want to eat or drink anymore; you say, “i’m done.” You make it so much easier, and ALL the time, you talk to us with your own language, with sentences that you think we understand. You use your fingers a lot to point to what you want or where you want to go, or to point to something when you say its.; name. You know about 30 words. ate, tatay, de-de, mama, lola, thank you, hi, hello, bye, i’m sorry, ball, dirty, kitty, doggie, bird, throw, up, down, Barney, DaiDai, rice, I’m Done, Ready, one-two-three, again, birthday, cookie, book, shoes, eye, fish … You also try to sing along songs, […]
It’s making it easier now that Elle turned 1, which means she communicates more to us. Lately, she’s been motioning to me when she needs a diaper change, esp. when it’s a nasty number 2! She also knows the word “de-de” which she uses when she want to nurse. When she sees someone, opens a door, or wants to greet someone, she says “hi.” When she wants to go outside, she’ll wave her hand. Her understand of language is also pretty impressive. If I ask her where something is, she’ll point to it. Tonight, I asked her where her milk was and she walked over to where she last put it, picked it up, and gave it to me. The words she responds to accurately is “where” and “give”. She also has minimized trying to go up the stairs when I tell her “no”. She starts crawling down the step. Also, when I tell her to go somewhere, like “go to your Ate”, she’ll climb down the bed by herself and go to Ate’s room. She also responds to “eat”, “hide”, “bless”. One cute thing is how she will say “thank you” when you give her something. She picked up […]
For those who came, and those who missed it, here’s the slideshow of the pictures that we took with our camera that day. Thanks to family and friends who took some shots for us all throughout the party to capture the fun moments. When Elle is older, she’ll be able to see the celebration of her first year and I know she’ll appreciate all the work sacrificed just for her. Thanks expressively to my parents who cooked so much food that day. Even though I requested for them to refrain from cooking so much, they always overflow in prodiving food for these parties for our guests. Thank you to my sister Steph who helped me with some decorations and setting up. Thanks to my brother Fred and sis-in-law LJ for coming all the way from Boston to help set up and then clean up afterwards. Thanks to the Cabanbans who provided some food and the tables and chairs. Elle is blessed and we’re sincerely thankful for you. God blessed us with such an incredibly beautiful day to share with our family and friends nearby. We loved seeing everyone enjoy the photobooth and the kids (and even adults) play in the […]
In behalf of our family, we just sincerely want to thank everyone who came to Elle’s 1st birthday party! Thank you to those who helped us prepare. It was a sincere show of support and love, even though I know she’s still too young to understand it. There were a couple of unmarked presents, so we’ll post pictures we hope people will claim so we can properly thank you!! Also, pictures of the posted #ElleTurns1 that showed up realtime on the laptop that day, pictures from the photo booth, and pictures we took from our camera will all be shared this week. If you took pictures and post them #ElleTurns1, they automatically go to our Flickr album that will be viewable this week. We hope you had a fun time enjoying the last hoorahs of the summer weather! Again, we’re blessed to call you family and friends.
