another day has passed and a new one is about to begin. what is it about something “new” that keeps us on our toes? come to think of it, in the past 6000 or so years (yes, I am a creationist) that this earth has existed, nothing is really new anymore . oh i know … it’s called a blessed hope in the midst of grim uncertainty. a lot of eyebrows would probably be raised when they read this. but what the hey, i’m sleepy, delirious and i can write anything i want. it’s so funny how “free minds” try to free us from the constraints of our grassroots, from the suffocating embrace of this “baggage of a bear” that they call faith. they say having a set of beliefs limits your humanity, they seem to have no basis for right or wrong, except for what they feel. a common trap because we end up living for the present. the train of thought that says, there is nothing to live for except to be merry, for tomorrow we die. if they are right, then it doesnt matter what you do and what you believe in since when we die, we […]

It’s crazy how I tend to start something and the desire just kinda wanes down. I tried to think as to what factors affect and/or pushes me into disinterest. I feel that I’ve reached the limit of my ability to do something Take work for example, they place me in various projects where all I need to do is execute some repetitive tasks, probably 10% of the time i spend in understanding the concept or the business rule behind a module and the rest of the 90% consists of writing documents and executing them again and again and again. *bleh* Another example would be creating stuff. Now this varies from writing, to music, to geeky stuff, etc. I know (in my point of view) the limit of my abilities, especially when it comes to technical stuff. As I progress in what I’m doing, I tend to overshoot my expectations hoping to exceed them. The stupid thing I do is that when I don’t meet that expectation I become so hard on myself and then lose interest of the project in it’s entirety. *bleh* wierd mix of wanting and not wanting altogether This is probably the wierdest and most dangerous quality […]
congratulations Sam and Stephanie on your engagement!
THE DEVICE The Tungsten T is one of Palm, Inc.’s newer models. It boasts a 320 by 320 reflective TFT Hi-Res Screen capable of displaying more or less 65535 colors, powered by a ~175 Mhz TI OMAP1510 processor compared to the ~33Mhz processor of the m515. This device also uses the latest Palm OS 5.0. One of the features of this device is the ability to record audio. You can record directly to an external SD card, virtually giving you unlimited capacity. I tried to use this in many situations and it really takes practice before you can get the optimum results. One complaint I have with this picture is that you can’t change the mic recording level and it seems to be very sensitive. I’m sure this can be fixed through a software patch. Another feature of this product … probably the coolest, is it’s bluetooth capability. It gives you the choice to expand you palm and enables it to function with other bluetooth 1.1 enabled devices. There are a variety of devices out there that you can use that are bluetooth enabled. For one, this is what I want … a bluetooth enabled gateway, I can surf with […]
This book is the reason why I became an avid Sci-Fi reader. Novelist Frank Herbert took me to a different world in which I myself couldn’t probably even imagine. He brought me to a place so vivid that it’s as if I was there observing the events that transpired first hand. The story is about a far off future where universes have been conquered and space travel have been made very effective by an element called Spice. Spice is a grain like material that smells like cinnamon and can only be found in the planet of Arrakis, or better known as Dune. Dune is a desert planet, and when I say desert planet, think of the whole earth as like the sahara desert without any oases, except for the frozen polar caps in the northern and southernmost parts of the planet. The most valuable commodity in this planet is water, perhaps the most expensive. Without spice, space travel is no longer instantaneous, tradelines will suffer, the Imperial control over the other galaxies in the known universe will eventually be lost. Without spice, the universe would be dead. Bottomline is, that whoever controls the flow of spice, directly or indirectly controls […]
