While in the middle of a conference call with my offshore team, I had this bright idea of upgrading my current installation of phpunit into whatever the latest one is. Should be a straight forward upgrade from 3.4.13 to 3.5.3 right? Not! The steps I followed were pretty easy. uninstall current version and its dependencies using the “pear uninstall” command, then reinstall using “pear install -a”. I typed “which phpunit” and the console gave me the expected result. I then followed up with “phpunit -v” which should give me the upgraded version and everything in the world will be right, but it had different plans. The moment i pressed the return key after typing that command, I got an error message mentioning that the required fileloader.php file is missing. 5 minutes in, I decided that I can’t give it much thought since I was still in the middle of a conference call So I let things go and concentrated on my call. After that was done I went through a series of uninstalls/reinstalls of phpunit but to no avail. Three hours and a couple of interruptions later, I decided to trace through all the dependencies and found out that all […]
Two weeks ago Zienne turned 1. It’s amazing how much she’s grown and how fast that year went by. I remember when Emma was born, time seemed to move at a turtle like pace. That’s probably the same for any first time parent out there. Zienne hit most milestones faster than Emma, except for her hair and teeth. By the time Emma turned 1, she probably had 14 teeth already. Zi on the other hand has 7. Zi was pretty good with walking, I do think that is because she sees her older sister do it all the time. Like her sister, she is loud. Always trying to get her mom’s attention by babbling like there’s no tomorrow. She does do something that we’ve never seen Emma do at her age and that is singing. At 7 months Zienne has been exposed to the choir because of cantata rehearsals. Everytime she sees people hold up their song books she sings. At first I thought it was pretty random but she knows when to start and stop. She makes the cutest “Aaaaaah” sound only to take breaks every other measure. She not only sings but she dances as well. Swaying back […]
Very interesting talk. Very true.
Ever since Pres. Obama’s inauguration, Emma has been very inquisitive about him. Recently, she’s been asking us as to when we can take her to the White House so she can see Pres. Obama. Yesterday, she brought it up again. After giving her my default answer, I got curious and asked her what she’ll say to the President when they eventually meet. She curtly replied, “I’ll say, Hola”.
Happy Birthday Nanay! That’s my ninang singing and taking the video btw.
i had to leave that day for p&w practice. then, emma wrote a song of how she felt when she saw me leave. Em’s song for tatay click on the teeny weeny play button next to the mp3 link in order to listen.
Hi Ate, it’s your birthday today. This is a significant year since this year was the first time where you actually wanted something. A pink tooter scooter. You have really grown into the girl that we’ve really become so proud of. I remember when you were born, you’ve shown us how much of a critic you already were by not even crying but just crinkled your forehead. It took you 2 whole nights before you even started crying then you didn’t stop for the next 3 years. Hah. You used to be super clingy and only to your mama and lolo. I must admit that I get jealous from time to time because my own Emma won’t even go to me. But those were the days. Ever since you turned 3 you’ve completely changed. Now that you’re 4 we even have logical banters as to why things are and aren’t. I used to be able to weasel out of any reasoning by saying because I said so but that is no longer the case. I do appreciate and love how protective you are of your little sister. In the 7 weeks that she is with us you are the only […]
