What My Mom Has Silently Passed Down

During choir practice, I ran to grab my phone to take this picture.

I don’t know why I felt so moved when I saw my mom and my friend’s mom decorate the church tree together. Little by little, I get a little discouraged with serving. But looking back to my childhood, my adolescence, and now as a mother myself, I’ve always silently seen my mother serve in this church where she can be of need. It’s a beautiful thing to notice her go home, then come back just to help decorate…even in her senior years. Silently, she has passed down the importance of serving in every season, every age, in the grand gestures, and even in these small moments.

I hope to live the same example to my girls.
