During the summer, the girls take about a month off from violin lessons. But they still diligently practice everyday their lessons given before summer starts. This is the song Emma has been working on. She has some rough spots with timing, but I’m very proud of her persistence to get the song done. “Gavotte for Mignon” Emma 10yrs
I’ve been trying to read novels every day this summer, to bolster my resolve to having read at least 5 novels this year. So far, I’ve read or currently reading: Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness by Susannah Cahalan Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus by Nabeel Qureshi All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr I’ve also downloaded “She Reads Truth” app on my iphone and tackling to reread the entire Bible again in a year. The last time, I read it to its entirety was in college, so stories have definitely become elusive in my memory. The app has a good tracker to keep me accountable. This will serve as my new source for daily devotions. GO GET IT!
Elaine was born April26 (Kris+Mike). Zara was born June29 (Kuya Fred+Ate LJ). My nieces were born only months from each other. I cried both times when they were born. Aren’t they beautiful?
My little Emmanuelle turns 10 today. 10 seems so young but you should see what her 10 year old heart looks like. She is one of the most loving, nurturing, forgiving people I know, who keeps a smile hidden in her back pocket in case of storms. She works hard for the chase of what calls to her personality and even harder to which doesn’t come so naturally. Her courage is greater than her fears. Her forgiveness, stronger than her hurt. Her laughter, louder than her sorrows. We are proud, not just of her accomplishments, but who she is, & who she is becoming. Happy birthday, monkey. We love you to the farthest moon. [We had a mini photoshoot for the picture above. I love styling the girls the day before their birthday and taking tons of pictures for their bday announcements.] (stay tuned for an update on how we celebrated the big one-zero!)
