Supposedly, an asteroid will pass close to earth 4pm today. By close, they said 200,000 miles. I need to start updating my definition of close.

Nevertheless, it makes one wonder, since life started on earth, how many asteroids passed closely by? How is it that we are allowed to exist? We are not powerful beings that can control forces, after all, although many philosophies have led us to believe we are gods.

Just thinking out loud…a passing asteroid.
