Happy Valentine’s Day Greeting to my Husband

Today is not just Valentine’s Day, but our engagement anniversary. I retell this every year to our kids, mentioning how their mom was completely surprised of their dad’s proposal BECAUSE it was Valentine’s Day. I am not one for cliche things of that sort so Perze knows not to propose on that day. But ironically, he did because he knew I knew he knew not to. Follow? In any case, he made a whole day out of it, taking me to several places just in case I was catching up to his idea. And as the day was about to retire, he took me to Sandy Cove, held my hand as we walked on the large rocks leading to the stump in the water where the little light house used to be. Then as the sun was setting, he knelt down one knee, said his plea, and asked me to marry him. This was us after he proposed. I was such a mess because I was basically weeping. Elleonai at 5 months

Elle turns five months today. What we’ve been waiting for those torturous sleepless nights of carrying Elle is finally coming appearing on the horizon as she’s nearing her 6th month. She’s definitely on her way to self mobilization. What she’s done in her 4th months: 1. Her first tooth came out. 2. She learned how to get in crawling position and sway back and forth to try to move forward. 3. She had her first real big laugh, triggered by her Ate Emma. 4. She started drinking from a bigger bottle. 5. She is still half/half breastfed/bottle fed. 6. She reaches out for everything and grabs hold of it, even things above her. 7. She plays in her exersaucer. 8. She’s getting stronger with sitting independently. 9. She can grab things and put it her her mouth to chew on. 10. She’s at the 25th percentile, weighing about 13 lbs.

New Year 2018

What tremendous blessings and milestones in the Ababa family! We praise God for His grace in provision and favor. May our family continue to be a vessel for His glory.

We bought a new house! We praise God for giving us hope and peace as we had to simultaneously sell our previous home. It was a nail biting experience, but God’s provision and timing were perfect. Perze’s enjoying the gadgets and toys that come with owning a single family home like going green with solar panels + rechargeable electric equipment.

Elle is in her 1st year of school! She knows all her classmates’ names, is now reading, + 2 out of 5 days falls asleep on the bus ride home. She has recently been chosen to participate for a peer modeling group. One of her favorite hobbies is reading, + one of her favorite series is the "Little People, Big Dreams".

Emma is taking her 1st year of French, joined the chess club, is taking performance art, and is part of her school choir, 7/8th grade orchestra, + chamber ensemble. She is incredibly outgoing when it comes to auditioning, joining different musical ensembles, and has such a strong interest in performing. She helps her dad sing during his praise sets.

Changing schools for Zienne has been an positive experience, as she has found her social niche + is one of the top readers and math students of her class. Zi's hobbies include anything creative, making crafts, arts.
