BOOM! Wonderful. “The risen Jesus told his followers, “As the Father has sent me, I also send you.” Jesus’s resurrection is not a promise for escape from the world or a life free from trouble, but rather it commissions those who would remember his resurrection to be his “raising” agents in the world. He sends us out with the extraordinary news that the dead can be raised to new life for death and evil do not have the last word! And as we begin to live in light of the resurrection, we can gain insight into its significance for the practical realities of everyday lives. As N.T. Wright has concluded: “Jesus is raised, so he is the Messiah, and therefore he is the world’s true Lord; Jesus is raised, so God’s new creation has begun—and we, his followers, have a job to do! Jesus is raised, so we must act as his heralds, announcing his lordship to the entire world, making his kingdom come on earth as in heaven.”(2) “ taken from Today’s Slice from RZIM “Raising Agents”
Sincerely, I was touched by the hands that reached out this weekend w/ all the unexpected circumstances. Nevertheless, I believe all the prayers have lifted our family up with God’s mercy and strength- from Perze’s recovery from surgery, to the girls’ cooperation with a 6am Sonrise Service, to a very blessed Easter Cantata. It was pretty challenging dealing with all the responsibilities on my own, without Perze, this weekend, while also finding time to prioritize taking care of him, with the added factor that my parents and siblings were coincidentally all out of the state this Easter. But I believe God had mastered it that way to remind me His strength is sufficient for me. Despite some hardship and fatigue that I will probably feel much later on, I have found it a joy to serve and worship. In all of His timing, He has reminded me about the joy of sacrifice…not giving up chocolate or coffee, or Facebook, but comfort, sleep, time, strength, and myself. This is not to boast, but to boast of God’s own message of power. This year Easter has definitely reminded me that because of Jesus’ resurrection, I can boldly believe we too have life, […]
The Ababas are trying to get healthy, and I might as well join in because even in my 2nd trimester of pregnancy, I don’t have a huge appetite. I mean, I feel like I get hungry, but feel sick when I think of certain foods to eat, esp. meals that contain chicken or beef…I actually want to eat fruit or crepes, or even cheese & crackers (which I have every day). Ok, going back to what I wanted to archive. Here’s what I cooked today. Sesame Tofu Recipe Here: http://www.food.com/recipe/sesame-tofu-177242 I took a chance getting the girls to eat it, explaining it resembled eggs and chicken. Surprisingly, they finished their plates and didn’t gag, or complain about hurting tummies, aliens, sporadic sleepiness, tracker jacks… Then the real test was the one I was really cooking it for- no, not Peeta, Perze. Pleasantly, he really liked it. So hopefully next time, I’ll master timing the veggies more to maximize their flavor.
Originally, Emma was supposed to sing the solo for this song but when Zi found out she wasn’t singing, she said, “what about me? I can sing.” So with some pointers, she handled the song pretty well, memorizing most of the words. They’ll also be singing for the Easter Cantata this Sunday after the Sonrise Service at 6am. www.SJBCI.org “I’m Singing” by Kari Jobe SJBCI Choir w/ Emma & Zi
