this weekend, this song was my joy.and tonight, this song is my comfort.
When I was younger I wanted to try whatever it was that she chewed so often and so passionately. She’d chew then spit, chew then spit. It looked cool. Then I grew up and learned it was tobacco. She was one hardcore lady, although quiet, resilient. She had to be; she was a mother of 11, mostly males. I hope she’s singing right now. I hope it’s ‘Glorious.’ If it is, it would make me feel better. She could really say "my eyes have seen the glory of the Lord." Rest in Peace, Lola. Many people love you, one is your apo.
oh. you are glorious .
"Shoot the Ball! Shoot the ball!!"Our beloved Zienne turned 2 on Monday, but we started the celebration on Sunday by taking all the kids out to their first bowling experience. I found a place that was kid friendly, that offered more than just bowling, but we only chose bowling because we didn’t have the whole day to go through all the attractions. It was a smart call because their bowling game lasted from 6:30-9pm. The intimate setting of just family really helped us focus on Zienne having fun. Too many people would have made her a bit cranky at this age. It was fun seeing the kids enjoy the company of each other. We were able to teach the kids how to bowl, enjoy being with them and seeing them try a new game. Even till today, Zi boasts of the fun she had bowling. I’ll ask her if she had a fun birthday and she’ll respond, "ya. […]
We can’t really take the credit for teaching her the ABCs. Barney did it. Barney also taught her shapes and colors. Every day, she would watch the episode where Barney would go through the alphabet, shapes, and colors. And that’s seriously how Zi learned it. Thanks Barney!! But counting to 10, mamam did that… She learned how to sing her ABCs around 21 months, with some letters missing, but at 22 months (in this video) only 3 were missing (L, M, N). Yay Zi!
