When I was younger I wanted to try whatever it was that she chewed so often and so passionately.  She’d chew then spit, chew then spit.  It looked cool.  Then I grew up and learned it was tobacco.  She was one hardcore lady, although quiet, resilient.  She had to be; she was a mother of 11, mostly males.

I hope she’s singing right now. I hope it’s ‘Glorious.’ If it is, it would make me feel better. She could really say "my eyes have seen the glory of the Lord."

Rest in Peace, Lola.  Many people love you, one is your apo.
