HAPPY GOOD FRIDAY to all our twelvesixteen readers! Yes, all four of you, stalkers included! Be blessed guys. I’m really excited every time Easter comes around. Make sure to make some time to marinate in your dependency of Christ’s eternal foundation, our validation through salvation made possible only through the agonizing death on the cross. And we share in that glory ONLY by grace through Jesus’ resurrection. Praise God for His complete sovereignty even from the beginning of time, seeing all prophecy come to fruition that very first Easter. To God be ALL glory. He is good. He is incredible, and more than worthy to be praised! Smile, we serve and is loved by a risen Savior!
We were in Barnes and Nobles and I was reading this to Emma to retell the Easter story, when I got so choked up in the end because of the last two pages that read, "and Jesus loved us so much…he gave his life so that we can live too." Good thing Emma took over reading when I stopped or else the whole children’s section would have seen a grown woman cry at a children’s book. Good thing is that Emma sees crosses differently today.
So today was the first ever trip to see the Easter Bunny! Although what was forecasted to be a day of thunderstorm, the weather ended up being absolutely beautiful and warm, not even a drizzle. So I dressed up the girls in my favorite colors this season. (Thank you Tita Grace for the clothes!) I explained that I had two surprises for them, and luckily they behaved themselves up until we got to the specific surprise. The first surprise ended being a little outing for ice cream! I took perze’s advice today, suggesting I take the girls out for ice cream. And indeed, that was my first choice. Wherever they went, they turned heads, followed by smiles, coos, from admirers. Afterward, we finally got their picture taken with a bunny who looked like the flash has aged him tremendously, wearing something unfamiliar to any store surrounding us, and who seemingly had people anxiety. I almost asked for a different bunny (in another mall). But since Emma & Zi were already filled with wonder, I couldn’t wouldn’t dare execute judgment in front of them in the form of requesting a rabbit who kept up with hygiene. Despite an old bunny, bad […]

Happy Birthday Lola Ruth!Thank you for always taking care of us and loving us. we love you! -Emem, Honghong, Daidai, Zizi, Muimui
Perze is 36 today. We invited the praise team over last Saturday for a small dinner. I wish I could have invited all his friends, but everyone’s pretty much scattered and the rain was merciless. He also doesn’t like huge parties, just maybe small parties here and there where the conversation isn’t subject to small talk and impersonal hellos. Today, per request of the birthday boy, we stayed in so he can rest. He’s always commuting for the majority of the week, so resting isn’t the norm for him. But we were able to go out for dinner, just our family. I wish his birthday was longer. I wish I could really pamper him. I make more wishes on his birthday than he does. But the wishes are for him because I know he’d never make them for himself. That’s who he is. If you ask him to describe who he was, for the most part, a lot of it would contain the names he loves the most, and it’s probably because he’d say, aside from God, he is himself because of me or his daughters, his family… But the Perze that stands alone, the man I’ve come to know […]
