?"…and yes, tithing is part of our worship. He’s given us that 10% to acknowledge that we have a responsibility in that matter, 10% to live out faith, 10% to live out trust, 10% to live out love. We constantly ask for blessings, yet withhold giving what he’s first given us." Old Testament times required Israelites to give 10% of their earnings (Leviticus 27:30; Numbers 18:26; Deuteronomy 14:24; 2 Chronicles 31:5), even more because of multiple offerings. In the New Testament, Paul states that believers should set aside a portion of their income in order to support the church (1 Corinthians 16:1-2). Tithing was meant to be an act of worship, and like worship, meant to be a JOY and a BLESSING. Perze and I have been discussing this over the years, ever since we got married, ever since we had less than $500 in our bank account. We made a promise that no matter what, we had to make tithing a priority every time a paycheck went through. We wanted our giving to reflect, not just obeying a command to give 10%, but that in our own life together, it is an act of faith that we CAN give at least that […]
Our first valentine dinner party as a family. Last year, Zi couldn’t go with us because she was too young, but this year, she had a blast, playing with all her kuyas and Ates. The same went with Emma, who danced into the night, chased her Kuyas around, and lavished the sight of an ice cream bar. Every year the parties get better, with speakers giving a message on love, with people singing, playing hilarious games, and this year, our first year with a DJ. Everyone got a chance to slow dance to a few songs during dinner and during the traditional rose dance when the husband chooses a rose for his wife, or bf to gf. hahahah. Surely enough, Perze and I got to slow dance, after we acknowledged that I was the third wheel to him and his ice cream, securely in his hand. I was requested to MC the games again this year, and it actually went a lot more smoothly than the previous year. I guess experience is the better teacher, and I was able to be more comfortable with the audience. I really have to give an appreciation to those who participate with the games. […]
Tonight, Zienne saw Perze’s picture on the tele and she said all in one breath, "Wat da? Tatay! Where are you? ……… There it is!" Tags: 20 months, zi, talking, phrases

I’ve finally gotten the umph to get all our old digital pictures from backup CDs and transfer them online to Flickr since we hardly print out pictures. I get pretty paranoid that something will happen to those precious pictures, esp. our wedding pictures, Em’s first few years, and Zi’s first year. Next project, sometime in spring, I’ll start printing out pictures. *sigh* feels good to know that even if these disks fail, they’ll be online.
