We all knew where Oscar was spending the night after last night’s awards show…so let’s just get to my short pick of fashion "yes" and "mmm…girl, to the NO!" First, YES! Kate Blanchet in this exquisite, no fail, ever classy lilac dress with a gorgeous dash of golden accents on the shoulders. The colors were insane to the fashion membrane. Mandy Moore hardly dresses her age, which is charming most of the times. She’s pretty vintage, so this romantic silhouette really suits her. Anne Hathaway may have one annoying voice, and might have been on caffeine doubleshots last night, but her first dress was made for the oscars, definitely dramatic. So let’s hear it for the "mmmm…girl…..NO," the "absoulte fail" category: Ashley Tinsdale and Vanessa Hudgens, I don’t even really want to discuss this…let’s just give some time to mourn the loss of some fabric…
God had a greater purpose when he sent Joe Cuthbert to teach me how to play the piano. The scared, fearful, stage-fright, insecure, self conscious 9 year old me would definitely have said no if told I would have the responsibilities I have today. Sometimes, you need those years of discipleship, not just to build your skills, but to build your heart. ————- Yesterday, I walked into church, and saw my old piano teacher attending the sunday school downstairs, in prayer. I quickly went into the bathroom with ambivalent emotions. I peeked out the door until they ended their prayer then stood outside so he could see me. Once he did, I just smiled and hugged him. I almost cried, I had to hold it in. It’s been years and this man, I owe a lot to. We went upstairs where I told him to sit all the way in the back so he wouldn’t hear me play the piano. I was so nervous; it felt like it was Tuesday night and I had neglected to practice all my lessons. I asked him to play piano for special number, and thankfully, he agreed. He sat on the 2nd pew from […]
Milestone updates at 21 months. ShapesZi can differentiate between three shapes- the circle, square, and triangle. If given these three shapes, she can point out the correct shape when requested. Also, if you point to a certain shape, she’ll say the name of the shape, although the words are still not as completely accurate. Triangle is "aingle." Circle is "ircle" and square is "quare." Mentioned in my previous Zienne blog, she has trouble saying her "S" letter, o ometime he drop that ertain ound. hahha NumbersAs far as numbers, she tries to count to ten…here’s what she recites. "one, two, three, five, six, eight, ten!" hahaha
I attended a wedding last week, wearing a cream ivory colored dress with a bolero that had these dusty pink beads on it. When I went to get Perze some new pants, I wandered into the women’s shoe section, as most women happen to do when they’re out looking for something totally different. It was meant to be because I found shoes that matched the dusty pink beads perfectly, a color and style that I’ve been eyeing for a while now, but never acted on since the shoes I wanted were around $80. It was meant to be because it was the right size, the only one that came in my size. And lastly, but unashamedly not the least……It was meant to be because it was only $9. YAY!
I was going through pictures and Zi got curious: Zi: who’s dat?Me: a friend.Zi: babyMe: yes, baby. Are you a baby?Zi: yah. baby. zi zi.
Perze gave our family the sweetest Valentine’s gift by booking our short stay at Sandy Cove last weekend. We had Dai Dai’s birthday lunch, then headed to MD since this may be the only time we get some time for a trip, with all the church activities coming soon. Seven years ago, Perze surprised me on Valentine’s Day, proposing marriage on the mini lighthouse at the end of the rocks at the lake. I never expected it because it WAS Valentine’s Day…but mission accomplished, I cried, said yes, and was engaged to the most handsome, intelligent, and loving man I know. So it was nice having the girls there with us. Emma’s at an age where she can know part of our love story, and see where her mom and dad got engaged. Thanks, Mahal.
