Here’s something from babycenter.com: 3 months Mastered Skills (most kids can do) • Recognizes your face and scent • Holds head steady • Visually tracks moving objects Emerging Skills (half of kids can do) • Squeals, gurgles, coos • Blows bubbles • Recognizes your voice • Does mini-pushup Advanced Skills (a few kids can do) • Rolls over, from tummy to back • Turns toward loud sounds • Can bring hands together, bats at toys So far, according to the charts, Zi’s accomplished all three tiers, even mastering rolling over from both sides, and picking up objects. Like her Ate Emma, she’s advanced. For complete chart, click here. We had her fourth month appointment today. She’s a likely candidate for eczema (poor girl), like Em, but everything else is healthy. She still has a closed tear duct on her left eye, but it seems like it’s getting a bit better. We also transferred to a new pediatrician, who happens to be our family doctor. We really like him and trust him, so every visit seems like a trip to a friend. Visiting him is also more efficient, since he’s not transferring us to another nurse for shots. He expounds on […]
Zi’s first laughter at 3 months, a day before her fourth month. We captured her third laughing session: Yay, babygirl, when you laugh, we laugh with you. Your joy is infectious!!!
She’s turning four months soon. You know what that means…let’s recap what happened when our little Zienne was three months. We started her on her exersaucer. She learned how to maneuver objects so she can pick them up. She learned how to bring things closer and push them away. She learned how to press buttons/tap objects to make noise. She learned how to salivate even more by blowing raspberries. She sticks her hands in her mouth a lot and puts little toys in her mouth to chew on them. She salivates a lot (hence the beginning of us having to make her wear more bibs). She mastered rolling over from her back to her tummy (at 2 months, she mastered rolling from her tummy to her back). What else?? oh! and YAY!!!! We heard her first laugh!!! Check out her videos! Ok, hellokitty, we’re ready for your four months, baby!! Tatay, Mamam, and Monkichi are all on tippytoes for your new tricks.
At 3 months, we let Zi try the exersaucer because she preferred standing up most of the time she was awake. She hated the bumbo or infant seat so we skipped it and let her stand. Within a week, she learned how to pick up various toys and press different buttons to make sounds, and turn the seat around to reach for an item. One of her favorite things to do is to pick up and make out with the turtle (as pictured)… The exersaucer pictured was the one we bought for Emma, and the same one that was passed down to Hong & Seph. So, this bad boy was one great investment. We bought it when Em turned four months, but Zi seems to be enjoying it at an earlier age.
They woke up early to buy me four bouquets of flowers- roses from Pepit, 2 bouquets of gerbera daisies from Emma, and 1 bouquet from Zienne. I’m thinking Emma chose the colors, and Perze knows my fancy for gerberas. The night before, they surprised me with books by my favorite apologist. 😀 They also picked up a huge ice cream cake, which they decorated. Ultimately, the cake was covered in unreadable sentiment, which I appreciated nonetheless, and which we devoured at the end of the night. That afternoon, after much needed rest, we headed to SHM where Perze was determined to buy my presents. He took me to my favorite store, where I walked around like a little girl, trying on my imagination. I know I have the store near me, but let me tell you the kick I get by just visiting another location, with its different stock and interior design versions. It’s really a strange feeling, but I’ll admit it…I get a really excited warm feeling, like a chilly day at a cafe listening to standard jazz and sipping on some really good coffee, reading a good book and every once in a while scattering words on a […]
