So I’m deciding to make cooking recipe blogs for those who can’t cook, mainly because I’m not the greatest cook, still pretty much a novice compared to veterans. But I’ve tried a lot of recipes and these are VERY simple to start with, yet still delicious. ANYONE can cook these recipes and they’re very fast (I’m a mom of two young children so time is a factor). Let me know how it goes! Meal: Beef with Broccoli & Mushrooms Indgredients: Beef (cut into thin strips) Fresh Broccoli Small Shiitake mushrooms salt beef gravy parsley flakes Steps: Heat oil in pan. Wait til oil is very hot. Cook strips of beef until they’re browned on med/high heat. Make sure to put sprinkle some salt (about a teaspoon). While meat is cooking, prepare gravy by putting one cup of water in a bowl and mixing it with the gravy packet. When beef is done, drain most of the oil in pan and put back in heat, then add the fresh broccoli and mushrooms. Cook for about 3 minutes then add the gravy. Mix everything while it’s still cooking in heat. Cook for about 5 minutes or when gravy has thickened. Put in […]
I’m a very big fan of nautical fashion, so when Baby GAP had their season sale from spring 2009, I bought a couple pieces from that line. Maybe I can find something along the lines of this style for myself to compliment the girls. The great thing about these pieces are they are super soft, and the material transcends the summer season into fall because of its heavier texture. They definitely are layering items, which makes them versatile in any weather. I also made sure I sized up for Emma, seeing as that she’ll start school next year, and I don’t want to have to spend extra money for clothes next year. She’ll truly be a dapper Dannie. source: Baby GAP
[ click to enlarge ] So this is my favorite dress from this year from J&J boutique for kids. It’s a scalloped sweater dress from the Soda Fountain summer line 2009. I waited for it to go on SALE, and then bought one for each of my daughters. I hardly buy them dresses since they get loads of presents from our friends, so much that sometimes they can’t wear all of them, so when I do see a dress I really love, I buy it. This year alone, I think this is the only dress I’ve bought for them. I love sweater dresses. Description: Sweet and lovely, our cherry soda pink sweater dress in soft pima cotton features colorful style for the season. Contrast scalloped detailing gracefully adorns the neck, yoke, placket and tiered skirt for a delicate feel. Finished with coordinating sash. Buttons in front assist with dressing. source: J&J retail: $48
So last night, Emma was a bit silent before bedtime, and Zi was already sleeping. I asked Em about her pensiveness and she said “I’m thinking about Zi.” She explained that she was sad upon thinking of the time when Zi would “be big like Mama and she will have a baby. She will have a new family and will leave me.” Wow. I was floored that such far sighted thoughts resided in my four year old’s head. I honestly didn’t know how to answer such a sensitive topic, yet remain as honest and mature as possible. You see, ever since we found out we were pregnant, Emma has stayed so close to her younger sister, being surprisingly nurturing, giving, and loving. Sometimes, she even asks Perze if he misses his Mama and Tatay (dad), consoling him by saying we’ll take a plane to the Philippines to visit them. I guess she picked up on the reality that sometimes you leave your old family when you get married and have a new family. So I told her, even if Zi will have a new family when she becomes a Mama, her old family will never change and will always be […]
So it took four months until Zi’s blocked tear duct opened, subsequently clearing her skin on her left cheek. After months of massage and wiping, it’s normalized and cleared up. Thank You Lord. Next up to bat- excessive salivating. You know what that means. Ate Emma grew her first two teeth at 3.5 months. Aside from that, Zi’s reached the obvious milestones earlier than her sister. But one similarity? They both hated car rides and being on held like a baby- on their back. And one distinctive characteristic of Zi? Her garrulous nature and sociability. Still on right: Em’s joining Zi on the floor for tummy time. She loves to play with her little sister. It shoes, because Zi responds with smiles and laughter.
“Anne Pinkerton cuts a mod figure from drapey jersey, featuring a blouson racerback bodice and tapered, ruched lengths.” Pros: comfortable, versatile, slimming, hides trouble areas, moves when you move, unique Cons: a little too loose even with an xs. OMG. I LOVE rompers; I can wear these everywhere. They are so comfortable, even my husband commented on the material, and he’s not a fashion kind of man. Let me just say, the picture doesn’t give this piece any justice! Someone get this romper a model! I’m 5’2 and small, so I had to size down to an XS, which fit great, and still with a lot of room left over for the material to flow and move. The top is, however a bit too long so it drapes a little longer than it should, but still looks fine when worn. The legs are a little longer too, but when it’s hiked up to the calves, they stay on there. When pulled down, they reach my ankles, but I don’t like how it looks when worn all the way down. My last disappointment is that the elastic waist is a little big so it tends to drop all the way down […]
