i want to archive this before I ever forget. Tonight, Em and I have this routine of talking before she goes to sleep. Tonight she said 4 things that have really touched my heart. As I hugged her, I wanted to tell her “You’re my best friend.” But she beat me to it and actually said it while her arm was under my head, “Mamam, you’re my best friend.” So coincidental. Then she said, “thank you for taking care of me.” Minutes later she requested, “can you pray for Emma?” After the prayer, minutes later, she admitted, “I’m sorry for being so mad.” These are some of the things that most people rarely get to see of Emma. I know she can be difficult and sometimes unsocial. I know sometimes, she can seem aggressive…but she is one of the most understanding, introspective, and loving 2 year old that you will encounter. Thank you God for putting that in her heart. I really cherish moments like that with her. ———————————————————————————————————————— By the way: Happy Father’s Day Most especially… …to all the dads I know, including Kuya Sam, who is a proud and great dad of his two adorable handsome […]
I love photography. Not just photography, but cutting it up after I take the picture, tweaking it on several programs, and putting it up so people can see it. I’m not a pro, or that great enough to have my own business of it. I have no formal training. I just have a good eye, or so I’d like to believe. I’ve done a lot of graphic stuff for church and friends, personal projects, and have done tiny tutorials to close friends. I just wanted to get that out, to whoever may be reading- to my future kids (if ever…go clean your rooms!)…so here’s some things I’ve done, just some profile pictures, very simple: These were VERY simple to accomplish. I didn’t have to use photoshop. Just like make-up, you just learn how to blend. I was playing with angles while taking shots at my newest girly thrill- fake eyelashes. Any questions?
I finally decided to take the leap and upgraded my aging HTC 8525 into the Tilt. This blog won’t elaborate why I decided against getting the 3G iPhone, that will be for another blog. The upgraded features of this phone has really made a difference over the HTC 8525; Integrated GPS 400MHz Qualcomm MSM 7200 CPU (This baby is Dual Core) 3 MP Camera with 8x Digital Zoom and Auto Focus 256 MB Flash RAM Improved Keyboard First Impressions The phone is just a tad heavier than its predecessor but a little thinner. The repositioning of the keys take a little time to get used to especially if you’ve used the HTC 8525 for a while. The phone also now has a spring mechanism that will allow you to bring back your phone to its closed position with very little effort. I personally think that the GPS is the core upgrade in this phone. Aside from getting your exact position from Google Maps and Windows Live Search, there are application that would enable you to record your actual location and automatically upload that in your personal web server. Now I think that is pretty cool. With a simple registry tweak, […]
The title doesn’t necessarily give justice to what I’m trying to write. Emma has been spoiled all her life with stories that are real or just plainly made up. Marchesa has always been her regular storyteller but I do make a guest performance from time to time. The first story last night was a variation of the 3 little pigs. Same story but had a twist in the end. The pigs gave the wolf some cherries because he was so hungry, he could eat anything, and anything turned out to be cherries. The second story was about arat-a-wata. the bad little boy of the Darangen folklore. The twist is that arat-a-wata is now a monkey laying waste on some farmers crops. the farmer had to appease the monkey and tricked him into drowning in the river. PETA won’t like this stuff but every fairy tale is about animal cruelty anyway. The third and final story was about this kid named dapal-dapal. His parents had to “lose” him because they can’t afford to feed him since there is famine across the land and he is such a voracious eater. One time he accidentally fell in a river full of crocodiles. His […]
Adding to the post below about my fetish for flower clusters is my newest bag crush. I hardly have bag crushes, never really liking a bag too much that I’d buy it. But this one matches what I’ve love- flower appliques, clusters that detail the item. This is by Lucky Brand Jeans called the “Morning Glory” Satchel. Interior zip pocket, open pocket for my camera, makeup, and iPhone pocket. It’s detailed with floral cutout appliqués; scalloped perforated leather trim (LOVE that!); contrast zigzag stitching; brasstone hardware rings. The only problem is that this beauty costs $248. Waiting for it to go on sale is fine, but the problem is that they’re selling extremely fast. source: –price: $248status: drooling over
yay! Ever since we added our hit counter, we’ve finally reached our 1000th mark. Congrats Twelvesixteen.net! Curious as to where the hits are from? Stalkers all over the world? Check out our GUEST MAP on the left side module.
vs. No, I’m pretty much not asking which ones I’d want to buy, although I’d be interested in what people think of the two. The practical question is which one to buy, not so much “want” to buy, because one of these pairs costs over $200 and the other less than $20. Just by close observation, you could probably guess correctly which one is constructed with better quality materials. The point is, with the great debate of design copyright, the consumer here pretty much wins, buying the style with a small fraction of the price. Although everyone pretty much disfavors and doesn’t appreciate style biters, with the gas prices these days, you don’t have a choice but dish $20 instead of the $200 (unless you’re the CEO or marry rich). It’s just pretty bad for the designers/sellers. But sometimes that’s what you get for creating great designs/fashion. This style took the idea of this season’s gladiator flat sandals, and femme-ed it up with the flower clusters. And like many of my friends know, flowers applique always win me over. Another pair I’m crushing on these days is the one on the right by LP, although a bit more reasonably priced […]
