as most of you may know, i’m a fan of target. i’m even more of a target fan because since 2 years ago, they have GO-international fashion which meld affordability w/ couture fashion designers. they already had my favorite Paul & Joe, which spearheaded GI. these days, it’s Jovovich-Hawk…yes, THE milla jovovich, the actress.
only in a few short weeks, most of their items have been bought off the shelves, mainly the most popular and coveted- vintage jean shorts and high jeans. on february, the first week they were on the shelves, i bought a pair of high waisted jeans for myself and vintage inspired shorts for myself and my sister since i knew they were going to be a hot item, which ended up to be true since you can only find size 13s on the shelves now.
here are high shorts, in heather grey, and the normal waist vintage jean shorts.
the high waisted pants are nice and snug, with good quality jean material. with high waist jeans you just have to be careful not to get jeans that are too high that you’re sporting an empire waist. these pants were inspired by the vintage look of the 70’s (think three’s company!) the jovovich has some really great reviews because it doesn’t look like cheap material jeans and the cut looks mature and not too kitschy, like you bought it from a teeny bopper store and trying to hard to look in trend. it’s subtle and still resembles the high waist trend.
most people think they can’t pull off the high waist, but the key factor isn’t so much your weight or height; it’s wearing height in your shoes ;). again, like vintage 70’s fashion, the heels must accompany the high waist jeans ;-).
