starbucks macchiato truffles?? yum on the bum

starbucks is finding new ways to caffienate us- again, but this time in the form of chocolates and truffles.  yes my (girl)friends, watch the thighs and skip the starbucks aisle.  so i bought it to test it out with a couple of friends while chatting up, and we all could only take one each because of its sweetness.  granted it tastes like the starbucks drink, but the truffle taste is great….i absolutely love truffles more than solid chocolate, so this was a treat.  i just don’t think i could take more than 2! but today, i tried something new and plopped it right into my morning coffee, and it quickly melted, being my sugar substitute.  it was yummy! try it … if you can find it.

not a baby anymore

have i showed you comparison pictures of my little baby? ok ok…not so much a baby anymore, but a sassy toddler?  look:                                                       2 weeks | 2 yr. 8 mo. hahahaha…funny ya? she got lighter, grew bangs, and sharpened that chin…hahah…oh. and don’t forget the immense sassy personality. she’s almost 3 ft., a toddler now, trying to talk in sentences which baffles us because it was only since november, months before, that she started building her vocab and speaking in very short phrases. now, she tries to insert articles and articulate her feelings like, "i’m mad" or "i’m sad, because i want lolo back" or the hilarious "mamam, calm down." can you imagine? hahahahah…no lie. when i hit lecture mode, she throws in the "calm down" card. twelvesixteen readers on other things, we just want to thank our twelvesixteen readers and friends.  in the time span of adding our counter on the main page, we’ve had over 200 unique visitors. we’ve started this project ever since we started dating, so it’s nice to finally make it our official and main blogger tool, as well as other things.  it’ll be funny to see emma blog on it one day… have you […]

knocked up

Knocked Up the cast was great. the plot wasn’t stellar, but the progression of the movie and it’s fillers of the great writing of its characters were refreshingly comical. most often times, a movie focuses too much on 2 main characters that the movie survives solely on them, but this film did an excellent job on giving vibrant personalities to the supporting cast. granted, there was a lot of french spoken, but the humor spoke deeply about male/female relationships and their (mis)communications. fun. definitely funny. dynamic turn of inner character which is what i liked…you’ll appreciate it even more if you have kids- experiencing first hand the pressure of the unexpected during your first baby…the joys and oh the horrors.

enchanted

Enchanted very skeptical at first because you already know the plot line and sinker just by movie cover, but once you watch it, you learn to like its blunt cleverness in using sarcastic cheesiness of the typical fairytale and its perpetuated silliness of the lack of reality involved, like taxes or bodily emissions. i also liked the de-masculinity while still maintaining the hope that chivalry is not dead after all, yet also empowering the effectiveness of women in desperate times. i’ve always been one to scream at the female who spends countless times fainting or screaming when you have the usual circumstances of someone being eaten by a she-dragon. the songs were palatable too, probably because of the distractions of colors, dancing, and subtle wit in the lyrics. it was an easy going movie, and that’s how it should be…but definitely a girly movie. but emma even liked it, for the songs and over-capable chipmunk with more intelligence than the prince.

just wanted to wish my ate the big 30 today!  she’s finally out of her 20’s. since we were young, she’s been the practical ate, very organized with wisdom enough to ground me. there are many things i admire about her, and seeing her in her role now, i’m proud of her.  along w/ a humble spirit, she exudes a quiet spirit without pomp and blare to herself, but she’s cherished amongst her friends and family.  she’s always made wise decisions, and you can really see how blessed she is, and her family.  happy birthday te. Zem’s first reading books.

today, we read The Foot Book again by Dr.Seuss.  i decided that I’m going to start teaching her words since she knows how to read her letters.  What’s good about this book is the repetitive words, esp. the word "foot."  It’s an easy visually constructed image w/ the two O’s.  So every time we stumble upon the word "foot," i try to slow down a little more and ask her to read it.  So now, she’s familiar w/ the image/word, as well as book. So now, she knows how to read words such as her name EMMA, OK, YES, HELLO, FOOT, and BOOK. But this is not the first book she knows how to read…hahah She’s very fond of her first Hello Kitty Colors Book.  She learned that every page says "hello" and the color of the page, so it seems like she can read all of the colors when she just knows that the word relates to the color she sees.  So in reality, she just really knows how to read "hello" and she’s mastered all her colors.

easter weekend recap

every weekend gets so busy, mostly family stuff and church stuff. although perze and i live an hour away from the activities, we continue to spend gas money on going back and forth.  and i don’t think it’s gonna end anytime soon this year, with all the parties, weddings, youth events, and church events. last weekend, after church we went to vietnam restaurant for my parents’ wedding anniversary. my mom has gained a liking to that restaurant so we treated them to lunch.  bubble tea. then ikea, since my brother is redecorating the main room in my rents’ house for future guests this year.  my mom’s family is visiting more often to the US, which wasn’t the case before.  so the room is getting major redecoration with new paint and furniture.  i’ve also been craigslisting a lot of the furniture to get some extra money for our old stuff, which is surprisingly selling…hahah so ya. it was nice to take my parents out for easter day, which i firmly believe is meant for family. :-). that easter sunday was refreshing. we didn’t get to go to the sonrise service due to our sicknesses, esp. em’s need for rest.  but we […]
