My Super Ex-Girlfriend uma can really play any part and has really expanded her roles from comedy to action, so this was probably a good comedic film for her, a bit easy going and probably fun to play. who wouldn’t want to play the nerd-turn-sexy superhero blonde slash vengeful ex girlfriend who could throw a live shark at the guy who dumped her? tell me… i think that’s what made the story work: things like anna farris, uma thurman, superpowers, relationships, and a huge shark being tossed around… i bet even superman would have enjoyed this film.

we attended one of our close friend’s wedding in MD last saturday. it was their second wedding, a formal ceremony for their family and friends. perze was a groomsmen for mark. the officiant marked great advice for the couple, saying that they are only in the continuation of the beginning of the journey to know each other. i agree that it takes a lifetime to know someone, despite the time spent already having had known the other person. and sometimes, despite the prolonged company of each other, it doesn’t mean you definitely know that person at all. the quest is to continue to seek the truth in each other, esp. in conditions of continual change. because of time, a person doesn’t stay as he/she is, so you cannot be comfortable thinking you already know everything there is to know of the one you love. and that knowledge, that seeking, is not a chore, but a joy to seek, a quiet adventure to find a new gift every day you wake up to that person. it was a very simple wedding, but such a joyous one…i’ve been to gigantic weddings and very small weddings, but the ones that i’ve personally really enjoyed are […]
we put it up before the rabs(to be) came over for dinner. every year gets sweeter, with zem because she gets so excited w/ holiday traditions. it’s like learning something new through something old. the meaning gets better. one day, christmas will mean so much more when she learns christmas is about christ. she did most of the decorating, putting all the balls and decorations up. but since she’s less than 4 feet, most of the decorations concentrated at the bottom..haha…it was hilarious and endearing. every now and then, cravings to watch her baby videos surface, so tonite, we watched her first few months on tv. she watched some of the footage w/ us, and was so sympathetic to baby emma. she’d be sad when baby em would cry, and laugh every time baby em would laugh. she understood that she was the baby in the videos. i love decembers… esp. as every year progresses.
(written 122104) i’m teaching sunday school for the young believers again because perze was transferred to the all time dreaded toddlers class who, although are adorabe in their own unique way, are very animated/misbehaved…but the Word Ministry felt it would be a great experience for him. the lesson was a blessing to me. i liked how the book integrated well known basic educational tools such as Maslow’s hierarchy of needs into its lesson on temptation. the levels follow: 1. physiological needs- clothes, shelter, food 2. safety and security 3. love and need 4. self-esteem 5. self-actualization these are the basic human needs to which none are exempt in having. but these are also the tools that Satan uses in order to tempt us, because we are manipulated and lured by its promises in exchange for forfeiting our trust in God. our basic example and proof, yet hope, is in Jesus, who was tempted by Satan in these levels because He was made flesh. Satan asked him to turn the stone into bread, tempting his primary need for food since He was hungry, having been fasting for 40 days/40 nights. jesus then was tempted at a high place, was shown all the kingdoms in the world, […]
