a very diluted version of American Beauty because of all the secret familial taboos, but very colorful, enjoyable, and entertaining.
what worked about this indian film was its brilliant use of diverse characters, subplots, and triumphant ending. the soundtrack even worked along with the movie’s moods, without it being typically ballywood-ish.
definitely a movie about family and acceptance. the storyline wasn’t really complicated or painfully invovled…if anything i liked it because it was simple and ejoyable.
if you’re a happy ending kind of person who likes subtitled indian films, this is for you.
