Vaja iPhone Cases

April 29th, 2008 | Marchesa Ababa | No Comments

i was looking for girly “clothes” for my iphone, esp. hello kitty covers, but the only ones i’ve seen were pretty tacky. might as well just put stickers on it. so i decided to shop around, like i shop for shoes, and found the ultimate skins from Vaja.com, called i-volution:

vaja02

vaja01

yes. i want the pink one w/ all the girly goodness of swirls and dots.  but this desire isn’t as easy to obtain.  this girly goodness starts at $220!

ninja, what?!

yes, that’s the starting price.  the reason for the “starting” price is that it’s customizable.  you can choose your colors, name engraving, graphic icon engraving, mode of taking over the world…etc…  ok, not the last one, but for $220, i was kind of hoping they’d throw in a cook and cleaning lady.  noted, i did have a vaja case before for my Palm Zire (a present from my indulging husband), and it was pricey, but it wasn’t starting at $220.  but with customization of your Vaja case, with so much styles to choose from, you really get what you want, from different leathers and protection options.  the good news is that there are some cases for the iPhone that start at $60.

also, it’s not just for iPhones.  they sell cases for just about the most popular tech gadgets/phones/laptops, even the MacAir.

a hairy situation: phone tattoo

Finally, A Useful Tattoo
In this concept design for the Core77 contest, Jim Mielke of the United States really pushed the boundaries of his imagination. When the cell phone rings, you push a small dot on your arm. A 2-by-4-inch tattoo with the image of the cell phone’s digital display then appears. Answer the call by pushing one of the tattoo’s buttons. When you’re done, the tattoo disappears. And best of all, you’d never leave this phone in your jeans in the washer.

i found this on msn.com from top 13 “Green” Gadgets.

my question is,
if you don’t mind:

” will hairier people have hairier cell phones?? “

Memorex iMove Boom Box for iPod - Mi3005

i was fortunate enough to find this in the clearance racks for $34, so I tried it out for my iphone:

Memorex iMove Boom Box for iPod - Mi3005

surprisingly it even works on my iphone, being able to charge it while playing my tunes and yes- even videos.  the sound quality is great, being able to amplify from the iphone itself while adding the boombox’s sound.  it gets pretty loud.  the only thing to keep in mind if you’re using your iphone is turning the “phone” option off cuz it’ll cause static since the speakers and phone signals coincide.

i love it though because now my child can watch her favorite movies on it, with full sound. the only thing i wish was different was that it was stable and even if standing on its side, because when watching a video, you have to turn the iphone horizontal.

also, i love how it has the option to use batteries instead of an outlet, even though it does come w/ an a plug out! that rocks since you can take it anywhere, and charge your i-whatever ANYWHERE!

this thing also comes with crazy numerous attachments for differnt types of i-toys so you can mount it and use it. it’s basically compatible for the itouch, iphone, ipod, ivideopod, ishuffle, inano, iyounameit!

it’s pretty near darn fabulous.

i say near because the only thing i can’t get is the tuner reception, which is pretty weak…booo…but you didn’t look for a tuner radio did you? no…you were looking for speakers for your i-toy.  so for $69-$79?  umm….eh…maybe (since there are a lot more expensive ones out there), but if you happen to catch it on clearance, it’s a definite Heck to the Yeah.

it’s not like those really portable minispeakers the size of nicole ritchie, but hey, it’s got a handle, it’s small enough, has great sound, AND is compatible with just about any mp3 toy you and your friends have…so everyone can just about use it and share great music!

starbucks macchiato truffles?? yum on the bum

starbucks is finding new ways to caffienate us- again, but this time in the form of chocolates and truffles.  yes my (girl)friends, watch the thighs and skip the starbucks aisle.  so i bought it to test it out with a couple of friends while chatting up, and we all could only take one each because of its sweetness.  granted it tastes like the starbucks drink, but the truffle taste is great….i absolutely love truffles more than solid chocolate, so this was a treat.  i just don’t think i could take more than 2!

but today, i tried something new and plopped it right into my morning coffee, and it quickly melted, being my sugar substitute.  it was yummy! try it … if you can find it.

belkin headphone adapter for iphone

March 19th, 2008 | Marchesa Ababa | No Comments

100_3144 so you can’t just stick in the iphone to any speakers. you’d need a headset adapter to listen to your music on stereo speakers.  for that you’d want to get the belkin headphone adapter to stick in your iphone and connect the regular stereo adapter. sound works great, the item is very sturdy, and belkin’s always a reliable brand.

now i can buy portable speakers.
but that’s another review blog.

Hymn Book iPod

i love great music. and let’s face it, i also love hymns. so you add them, multiply, carry the two and subtract the square root and get:

Hymn Book

crazy huh? i was actually hoping they’d come out with a cover for the iphone, cuz then my friends, you’d see me rocking the hymnal cover.  It’s leather material designed to case your iPod or any device of the same dimensions. what do you think? worthy or blasphemous?
